The easiest way to to make nits visible to the naked eye is with ISpy Glo-Powder, which is a green-coloured powder that binds to the nit and makes them glow under ultraviolet light. Obviously nit eggs that glow are far easier to see with the naked eye than any other method.
To use ISpy Glo-Powder, apply the powder across the hair and use a brush to spread it out to create a light film across the whole head. Then simply shine a UV light on the hair and look for the tiny glowing beads of light that are nits!
Remove the nits with your fingers by gripping the nit between your finger tips and sliding the nit down the hair shaft. Keep going until you’ve removed all the lice eggs. If the lice infestation has been around for a while there could be hundreds of eggs to remove, which does take time, but is worth the effort!
Nits take 7 days to hatch into lice, so it’s super important to get rid of ALL of them.
